Jessica & Eividasβ Elopement
A whimsical autumn elopement in West Cornwall
Jessica & Eividas were married on a misty Octoberβs day in Jessβs hometown of Penzance, a quintessential historic seaside town at the foot of West Cornwall.

Following their simple town hall ceremony with just a handful of their close friends to witness, they headed to Mousehole where a thick sea mist rolled in off the ocean and shrouded us all. We wandered around the seapool, observing seals calling in the gloam before we all headed up to the beautiful pub, the Old Coastguard to warm our cockles with coffee & pastries.
After everyone was warmed and rested, we headed to the Pendeen side of the Penwith peninsula to visit some of the most iconic views in Cornwall (notably used for filming scenes in the BBCβs most recent Poldark) and eventually, were cloaked in mist so thick we could scarcely see what was in front of us.
The evening reception was a warm & cosy gathering at the Artistβs residence, a stylish hotel come restaurant on the iconic Chapel Street. A beautiful Rococo cake served as desert and the evening culminated with a first dance on the cobbles down at the historic Abbey Slip with the sounds of the water gently lapping at the quay.
A wedding lunch at the Old Coastguard, Mousehole
As we arrived in Mousehole, a beautiful mist had enveloped the village and since we had a little time before their casual lunch reservation, we nipped down to the Rockpool just in front of the pub to take in the sights and listen to the seals calling to each other in the sea fog.

Ethereal elopement photography
I love lighthouses - Iβll never forget the time that Emma & rob eloped to the St Agnes lighthouse on the isles of Scilly. I wish there were lighthouse wedding venues in Cornwall that were fully licensed for ceremonies - it would be my dream elopement to capture. But in the meantime, Iβll have to settle for ethereal misty visits to the clifftops instead where we can admire them from nearby.
The fog rolled up the clifftops and eventually it became too thick to stay. We found ourselves shrouded within a cloud and we could barely see ten feet in front of us so we hopped back in the car and drove back to the warmth of the cosy restaurant waiting for us in Penzance for Jessica & Eividasβ intimate dinner reception.
The Artistβs Residence, Penzance
We finished the evening warming ourselves by the roaring log fire of the cosy restaurant on Chapel Street and sipping cocktails. The couple had a few close friends attending and eschewed speeches but they did have a beautifully pastel iced cake which was a present from one of their friends.
