An earthy, natural outdoor wedding at the Eco Park, Porthtowan with a Lovely Lane dress and a misty shoot at the beach where the groom proposed
Mount Pleasant Eco Park
What a week! Although weβve captured a couple of teeny tiny, super secret & discreet little weddings since the new year, Saturday officially kicked off a fresh wedding season for us in Cornwall and what a way to start the year.
We were at the Eco Park at Porthtowan, a festival venue up on the cliffs of the North Coast overlooking mining country and a stones throw from beautiful Porthtowan beach (not too far from where I grew up!)
Despite this never ending winter weather, Sasha & Naveen were married outdoors beneath the sun on a brisk April afternoon. Weβve whipped some some little sneak peaks from their absolutely incredible day whilst we work on their full gallery and wedding video.
A dreamy & romantic teaser trailer wedding film of an outdoor, spring wedding by the coast in Cornwall
Naveen & Sasha booked one of our full day wedding cinematic videos. As with the photographs, we love to deliver a little preview within a week of the wedding and so Jon conjures up a little teaser trailer in the form of a mood piece. Itβs not a small chunk of the finished wedding video but rather itβs own little moment showcasing a particular part of the day. For Sasha & Naveen, itβs when we turned up at their favourite beach where they got engaged to find it shrouded in the most beautiful and ethereal sea mist. It was out of this world and so we felt it deserved its own moment, celebrating their wild abandon as they ran freely through the mist, dancing and embracing their day.
Sasha & Naveen had planned a relaxed and fun filled day, celebrating their families and loved ones that were travelling from far and wide across the globe to be with them and witness their vows to each other, The ceremony was led by the brideβs dad and they were married outdoors with guests seated around an amphitheatre and music was at the heart of their day, with friends and relatives providing music throughout the day and they had even formed a band to play exclusively at the wedding. There were so many special moments from this personal and moving celebration and wellβ¦ the outfits, they were pretty rad! Iβm a sucker for mismatched bridesmaids dresses and these block print dresses that were brought over from India were some of the loveliest bridesmaids styles Iβve seen. I was also a huge fan of Sashaβs dreamy cotton muslin gown by Lovely Lane - a NL based wedding boutique on a canal narrowboat with an eco ethos. I loved the super relaxed & gentle energy of the day and the guests were so lovely and welcoming. The vibe was immaculate. Thank you so much guys for choosing us to be your wedding photographer & videographer :)
Nostalgic, artful, natural storytelling Wedding photography & videography in Cornwall
Their day was a fusion of elements of hindu practices to honour the grooms family & heritage and humanist traditions. Ultimately, it was crafted completely around the couple and their guests, blending so many wonderful things to create a celebration of love and life. So many times I heard Sasha say βIβm so happy! this is the best dayβ whilst beaming from ear to ear and that filled me with joy. As a photographer, my job isnβt to conduct a photoshoot - but capture the day that was, truthfully and harmoniously, the more laughter the better.
A real highlight was running around the field overlooking the engine houses in the valley. We all had a jolly good time and nobody fell over which was a miracle.
Iβm so excited to get cracking with the full edit of this wedding and I can wait to see how the wedding film turns out too. Sunshine to mist to dusky clear skies, could there be a more perfect combination?
