Ben & Vitoria were wed just as spring began to emerge and the blossoms bloomed on the trees. On a soft, pearly day in early April, Jon & I headed deep into the Camel Valley to a quaint and pretty little venue nestled atop the hills to capture their enchanting day. Ben & Vitoria opted for Photography, Videography AND analogue film captured on Jon’s Hasselblad and with such gentle lighting conditions, a beautiful outdoor venue and gorgeous day, we were so excited to get to work capturing their dreamy narrative unfold. This was also Jon’s first videography project and you can find their highlight video under our ‘videography’ page.

It was one of those beautifully subtle and muted days and the light filtered gently into the converted Barn where the bride was getting ready with moody window scenes overlooking the valleys. It was a soft and dreamy sort of morning as the couple got ready with just their immediate family and very best friends. 2020 was the year of Micro weddings for us, and even as restrictions ease and larger weddings resume, we love that people who are more introverted and who want a calmer day have embraced these sorts of celebrations and are opting to keep that magic going.

In keeping with the vibe of the day, we edited the photos to look soft and muted to capture the mood of that gentle, pale day as Ben & Vitoria wanted photography and videography that was authentic but soft and whimsical.

The bride’s father smiles as he prepares for the grand reveal. Below - little momentos and details to tell the story of the morning. The way light creates patterns on the wall, views through the windows, art and seasonal flowers… all the sorts of things we love to help tell the story of the day.

We loved Vitoria’s bridal style with the dried flowers woven into her long curly hair styled by Emilie’s hair and makeup. Little springs and bunches of flowers adorned the chairs for the outdoor ceremony setup which overlooked the rolling hills and woodlands of Camel Valley.

Ingrid of Lafonia Flower company created the brides greenery bouquet and details around the arch which overlooked the valley for their outdoor wedding ceremony. The beautiful venue comes with accommodation on site with a stylishly decorated cottage with views over the valley and a quirky glamping honeymoon cabin for the bride and groom. We found Helen & Dave to be such genuine, warm and gentle hosts, we can’t recommend them enough to our couples looking for a venue that has it all for a unique micro wedding.

The parents of the bride and groom took it in turns to lead the service with a beautifully bespoke handwritten ceremony just for them. Their best friends provided the music for worship beneath the open sky and the sounds of singing really set a whimsical mood for this delightful, outdoor spring wedding.

The studio interior was decorated with contemporary, greenery vibes with a slight rustic feel with springs of leaves and place names mounted on little wooden logs. After their ceremony, we wandered down to the little gardens near the cottage to take couple photos among the cherry blossom that was just beginning to bloom.

After speeches, cake and the guests warming themselves on the log burner, we jumped in the car and headed to nearby rock’s beautiful sandy dunes for a couple session by the sea. Vitoria and Ben travelled down from Swindon for their wedding and so heading to one of the most dreamy little coastal spots in the area was an absolute must.

The sun began to peep through the soft spring clouds just in time for that dreamy late afternoon light. When we got back, David had got the pizza oven going and was serving the most delicious, fresh homemade pizza from the converted horse box onsite which was a huge hit with the guests.

As evening drew in, Helen & Dave lit the fire pits and everyone gathered round as the chill set in and showered the bride and groom with wedding day presents. We had the absolute best time getting to know the guests and hanging out and by the evening time, we felt like we were all friends who had known each other for years. There was such good energy and a great little select crowd of people, Ben & Vitoria’s wedding is the absolute perfect example of why we love intimate weddings. We hope it’s a trend that’s here to stay!

We hope you enjoyed the highlights from their day as much as we enjoyed being a part of it!

Warmest wishes,

Sarah & Jon x
