Victoria & Oliverβs romantic micro wedding at Treseren
Soft silk touches, medium format film and the most beautiful stationary by Scalet paperie with a dog of honour
It always feels a bit rude to have βfavouriteβ weddings when youβre a wedding photographer. Both Jon & I are very sentimental people and we get very invested in each and every single wedding we do but every creative has their strengths and weaknesses and the things that set their souls alight and gets them dreaming. For us, itβs intimate weddings.
Although we absolutely cover larger weddings too (We take on a limited amount per year) our heart does lie with the micro wedding. It gives you breathing space to step back and seek out beautiful portraits of each and every one of the guests and get some truly artful photographs. Oliver & Victoriaβs wedding was one such wedding. They had just 20 guests at the beautiful Treseren, a Georgian former mine-captainβs country house nestled in pastoral farmland near the coast and they booked both myself and Jon to capture their day in full from the getting ready moments til the twinkly evening after the sun went down. They even requested a few photographs on Jonβs pride and joy, the Hasselblad as the groom and his family were film enthusiasts. You just canβt beat the look of medium format film, especially when we were on Holywell Bay for their romantic couple portraits. What a beautiful example of how gorgeous an intimate wedding in Cornwall can be full of considered and Romantic touches. Their special day will forever stand out in our memories.
FABULOUS LOCAL SUPPLIERS

Full Day captured by Jon & Sarah. Weβve blended the medium format film in with the digital gallery for the purpose of this blogpost :)
Treseren is a dog friendly wedding venue which meant that their dog Daisy got to be part of the action too. She even had her own invited designed by Scalet Paperie, a talented local stationary artists and a beautiful handmade floral collar by 3Acre blooms which she kept on longer than anyone expected.
Victoria wore a dreamy blush lace dress with a floaty veil and soft and elegant hair and makeup by Ione who is the master of really natural looking, cruelty free wedding makeup.
It was under the stretch tent in the gardens that Victoria and Oliver met by their rambling arch for their outdoor ceremony.
They had fresh flower petal confetti which was so pretty and colourful as an eco alternative. Who doesnβt love to fill the air with a cloud of flower petals? (except perhaps Hay fever sufferers, but shhh)
They enjoyed a champagne reception in the gardens squeezing in all those joyful hugs and delicious canapΓ©s before a trip to Holywell Bay for their couple photographs.

Have you ever wondered about how different digital looks to film? Here are some of the couple shots that Jon captured on medium format during Oliver & Victoriaβs wedding whilst we were at the beach so you can compare how that soft, whimsical Kodak Portra vibe pairs up with the digital versions edited in our signature style.
Somehow the light just hits different ^_^ September is such a good month for a wedding in Cornwall as you get those warm summer tones with a slight hint of autumn breeze. Itβs not unbearably hot but the chill of October hasnβt arrived yet.
Meanwhile, whilst Victoria & Oliver were frolicking in the dunes, Izzy and co. were busy setting up the dinner table in the wedding room back at Treseren. Victoria had planned for a beautifully romantic and timeless table scape with shimmery silks from Lancaster and Cornish, handwritten stationary by Scalet Paperie and thoughtful tokens for each of the guests to enjoy at their place. Blush candles and floofy flower arrangements set the mood for a delicate and fairyish mid-autumn-nightβs dream vibe and a mouthwatering cake table of treats by the Cornish cakery with suitably autumn flavours.
We loved capturing all the little details as well as the guests to help tell the story of the wedding. Things like, how the light falls, which flora and fauna is in bloom and views of the scenes unfolding within the setting. These guys were enjoying delicious cocktails from the Lovedays cocktail bar out in the autumn sunshine on the terrace. Itβs not a bad way to spend a day.
As the day waned, it was time for dinner and some short, informal speeches. They enjoyed a play in the garden with Daisy and the kids as the last of the days light filtered through the trees ready for the evening to unfold.
You can bet everyone was pretty excited for the cake cutting so that they could get stuck in to all the delicious offerings.
Thank you so much guys for a beautiful day. Everything about this day was exactly why we love an intimate wedding - chilled out vibes, just great company and great food (not to mention great cake) and it wouldnβt be complete without a trip to the beach.
Can we do it all again?
